New development is important and critical to the realization of the downtown master plan. The city and DDA are in preliminary discussions with developers, who have or are assembling property and defining plans. The city and the DDA are encouraging those developers to design projects consistent with the Downtown Master Plan and comply with the zoning code.  As plans are available and public, they will be listed and described below. 

Fabric Development

The next and most defining development is part of the Town Green. This 3-story mixed-use building includes ground-floor retail below residential. The building will occupy 2-acres of the 4-acre property that fronts on North Avondale Road between Oak Street and Lake Street.  The remaining 2-acres will be the Town Green Park. The retail will not only activate North Avondale but will also include patios facing the Town Green Park. A promenade will divide the building on North Avondale Road giving the community an additional access point and a vista into the Park.    See Town Green for more information about the park.
