About Us
The Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a quasi-government implementation organization created in 2001 by local legislation enacted by the Georgia General Assembly. The DDA is managed by a 7-member board appointed by the Board of Mayor and Commission (BOMC) to encourage redevelopment activities and provide assistance to private and public partners for the purpose of improving the downtown area. It is authorized to accept grants and apply for loans; own, acquire, and improve property; enter into contracts and intergovernmental agreements, and issue revenue bonds.
